Studies on Ocular and Skin Irritation Tests of Some Kinds of Lotion and Shampoo

Abstract

|
|
The irritant susceptibility of skin and ocular in rabbits were examined. The test was conducted by the medical toxicity rule of Korea Food and Drug Administration. Six kinds of lotion, and four kinds of shampoo were collected in popular local´ products. Laboratory findings revealed no erythema, edema and ´incrustation while the test was proceeded with six male rabbits. However; the results show that both lotion E and shampoo. His skin irritation rates were recorded 0.98 and 0.15 high in the irritation rate of the diagram. It may be consider that they, have high density of surfactant materials compared with the other products. Some of products show a bleeding of iris, conjunctiva and edema from the irritant test of ocular membrane even if it is slight. It releases that the raw materials of shampoo were composed of mainly sulfate or acymethyltaurate.
